  1. I began class by taking roll once again in the analog fashion. I correctly pronounced everyone's name. This is important to me.

I then asked those students who have not yet turned in their syllabus signature page to do so. Only two students have yet to turn it in, which is good since it's due tomorrow for 5 points.

Immediately after that, I checked (for 10 pts)to see that the assignment over "The Origin of Stories" was completed.

We next did three more notecards, and I met Sam, Drew, and Brett. It was revealed that Sam has many (though closely related) career goals, Drew loves to travel, and Brett has a 180 lb. dog at home with a wimpy appetite.

We then made small groups, and students each picked one inference from their homework to share. Then, we came back together and each group shared ONE inference with the rest of the class. Along the way, we discussed the story and the culture that produced it. The discussion was, though brief, successful; however, there was far too much side-talk--something we must work to correct in the future.

Finally, I asked students to write one full page about the importance of stories in their lives. It's due tomorrow.

Stories about stories about stories about stories about . . .

    Welcome to Mythology.

    Scribe Notes

Well, hello whoever opted on not showing up to class yesterday! Attendance went pretty smooth overall except for the fact that you were not here. We went through the usual ritual of our flashcard introductions. I had the honor and privilege of meeting the Russian baseball player and Spook who recently turned 18 and his mother would not let him purchase cigarettes. The class was then divided, there was tension among us, our rations were low. Haha, jk.
We discussed our made inferences in each of our groups about the story from friday. My group definitely has the best inferencing skills. :) Then lastly we were assigned a one college ruled page paper over what the importance of stories in your life is and which stories are important to you and why. The objective for this assignment is to analyze and evaluate connections between text and self. Well that's pretty much it. I hope you enjoyed reading and/or listening to my scribe notes because I definetily enjoyed scribing these notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to begin my tale, i must tell you of this document known as.. the first homework assignment. it was due at the start of class today, it was fairly easy and we were to use it later in class. The last few pages of signatures were quickly handed into the teacher, mine being one of them. We read a few more cards meeting more wonderful people. then the class was divided.. at the time we had a chance to talk among the three.. or four of us about the homework assignment, going over prime details to help better understand the story, then as a group, we forged a main idea, to share with the class, to sparl discussion, after the heat died down. the nest assignment emerged.. an essay as to why stories are important to us. we can also share any stories that may have signifigance to you. as i was leaving class i knew i had anoter task the others did not face, scribe notes.
