Today began as a any other day. i walk in and realize that tomorrow was my turn to take the power that has been bestowed upon me as the scribe noteree taker. a fear came upon me, i wondered how id follow those before me. at the begging of the hour felix stands up in front of the class and reads his scribe notes aloud to the class. we all listen attentively and about 7 minutes into class my mind starts to wander. i then realize that mr. becker's theory of people my age's attention span being only 7 minutes long. i couldnt help but agree. i then began to just sit back and observe. i couldnt help but notice mr. becker at his desk listening and doodling on his computer. i then began to wonder what he was doing or looking at on his lap-top. he was probably checking attendance or doing some school related activity, but then i began to realize that, thats what he wants us to think. i bet he was looking at some sweaters for his dog, or some new frisbees or some other non-sense. any who, after looking at mr becker, i then began to wander around the room yet again. upon my wandering i find the renaissance man himself, scott. as he sits notice the 7 minute affect happening to him as he sits staring blankly at the wall behind me playing with his gages. as felix comes to an end with the sharing of his scribe memoirs mr becker announces yet a new assignment. he tells us to make a class mural of the story read the previous night for homework. he counts us off, we all go to our groups and we begin. my group consists of felix, miles, and myself. we begin by re-reading the story and we portray a mural on the board. as we finish we begin to share our drawings. the 1st group is instructed to share and malcom stands in front of the class and he gets angry and storms off to his seat. the next group begins and the rest of class follows suit. they next event in the class is probably the most buzz worthy topic we will cover all year. cronus' testies. when casually brought up by ----, a a comment by mr. becker and a fire sparks within the class. for some reason everyone seemed to been interested in the castration of cronus and the testies being thrown into the sea and the rise of the sex and beauty god from the white foam from the testies

ReplyDeleteAllee E., 2nd Hour
ReplyDeleteFor it being second hour on a Wednesday,
our class was pretty much awake today.
We started off with the reading of yesterday's scribe notes,
even though most were shivering in their coats.
Then we were told to get out our matrix,
as doing so Mr. Becker decided the carpet needed a fix.
We did our usual routine of going over the different aspects,
and refering to how each story connects.
As Mr. Becker asked for our answers on the worksheet,
people seemed to be in defeat.
None seemed to answer,
but some so clever.
Finally we finish,
but our hope was soon to vanish.
For we had yet another assignment,
that most started in that instant.
The Ages of Man on pages 90-92,
this also another Greek myth it's true.
A myth on how humans began,
but believe me, they are so close to he-man.
With generations of gold, silver, heros, iron, and bronze,
that carried out for aeons.
Most died out,
but the iron stuck out.
Even though they had no respect,
they still had a major affect.
If you want more,
you'll just have to read this lore.
As people finished reading,
most relied on sleeping.
But soon the bell had rung,
out our seats we sprung.
Until next class time,
this was my rhyme.
