  1. Emmanuel R., 2nd Hour

As usual, talking subsides, as Mr. Becker enters the room
Students pick up the packets by the door
    Faces seeming kind of gloom
About to read a poem of a folklore

He began the class with a brief reflection of yesterday
About the story of Jason and the Argonauts
And how it relates to this play
    Combining our insights and thoughts

Then a powerpoint was pulled up of how to annotate
And he instructed how we need to read
How a part would be read by a fellow classmate
And how a little enthusiasm wouldn't hurt nor bleed

After an elaborative explanation of annotating
The characters of the poem were assigned
    Without any fighting or debating
Hands were raised, some hard to find

    Without wasting any time
    We cut to the chase
    Mr. Becker reads a line
    to exhibit an enthusiastic taste

The reading begins with our nurse
Nothing but the reader and the pages flipping, are heard
The majority follows along, seeming immersed
T'was as peaceful as chirps from a morning bird

'Til one character joins the play
    With high volume and spirit
She wakes up those heads that lay
So that everyone can hear it

Mr. Becker finally wraps it up for the day
As the hour comes to an end
Some students slowly make their way
    To chat with a friend

A few students still with their heads down
The Z's they continue to devour
    Awaken by the bell's sound
    Off to third hour
