Today I walked into class and grabbed a sheet about works cited. I thought to myself it would be a nice and easy going 4th hour. I was in a good mood even when Mr. Becker told me I had to do scribe notes. Mr. Becker started class by explaining how to format our works cited page. After that was done he went on to ask us about our essays. He took the four people who now had a first draft of their cosmogony essay and put them all into a single essay revision group. To everyone else that meant free time. He then said we were allowed to use this “relatively unstructured” time to work on our essays, even letting us go to the library. However, that came with a stern warning to stay on task and do our work. As he passed out a student’s makeup work and started to write too many names on a pass that is too small I tried to think of what I needed to do. All I really needed was my works cited page, but I just wanted to procrastinate more. So I rushed to his desk and decided to go to the library and see how much progress I could make on it. A lot of people, or “travelers” as Mr. Becker would say, went to the library to get some work done on their essay also. As the bell rang I thought to myself that today was a good day, mainly because I had no homework yet, but I knew this would change after math 7th hour.

As the tardy bell was about to ring, I entered the class. As I was about to take a seat, the cold air in Mr. Becker’s classroom caught up to me sending chills down my back. I sat in my seat pondering why this classroom is so cold every day. The bell rang and all the students sat in their desks quietly. I began to think about what Mr. Becker would have in store for us today. It then came to my dismay that i had forgotton he posts our agenda on the board every day. First, Mr. Becker was going to teach us on how to create a works cited. I felt a little relieved since I did not know how to make one. Luckily he also gave us a cheat sheet with all of the information on it. I was reviewing the paper and come to grasp the fact that Mr. Becker really wants those margins to be at one inch. When he finished we were given the choice to either finish typing our papers in the Writing Lab or work on our embedding qoutes cheat sheet and finish editing our paper in the classroom. Figuring I would get nothing done in class I decided to take the trip to the Writing Lab. I logged onto the computer and began searching for my essay. I knew I had saved it to my computer at home but I thought just maybe I would have saved it to my email. After I realized I finished my essay at midnight a few nights before, I knew I barely had enough energy to finish this essay let alone save it to my email. Not wanting to waste my class time, I decided that I would complete my Works Cited since it was still fresh in my mind. I was able to finish it pretty quickly since Mr. Becker gave a very useful example. Thinking that was too easy though, I read over the examples again to see if Mr. Becker would try to trick us. The bell to bring second hour to a close was about to ring. Not wanting to think anymore, I saved my work and anxiously waited to leave. I mingled with my classmates until the bell. Everyone jumped up simultaneously which brought another exciting day of Mythology to a close.
