So my class has this trend of not doing their Scribe Notes. I’d like to start off by apologizing for ruining the trend.

    Sorry for ruining the trend.

On the second day of November in the year 2010 at about 8:30 in the morning, the students settled in their desks with heavy bags under their eyes. Timeout. The day before was a very well executed senior skip day, and you walk up in here with baggy eyes... Didn’t you sleep all day yesterday? Whatever... Time in. Becker walks around the room checking all our stuff that we did from the readings that we were assigned. He came to the center of the room with an angry face on and told us that nine students were prepared for discussion groups today. Timeout. Those seniors that skipped yesterday that think they can walk up in here unprepared... Just disgusting. C’mon... Didn’t sleep or do simple mythology homework. Anyway... Time in. We got in our discussion groups (which I love having and was threatened to be taken away from me and replaced with busy work and quizzes... because of my fellow seniors) and talked about our stories. My group mates and I found it difficult to stay on task for 30 minutes and were trying our hardest to not lose participation points. Thankfully Becker didn’t hear us when we did drift off the topic of Bakaridjan Kone. Then we put our desks back in order and the bell rang and we left.

Once again, sorry for ruining the 1 for 10 stretch. It was fun while it lasted.

Class today started with the recounting of stories of senior skip day. then the topic shifted to the fact that only 2 students where in class yesterday. After a brief passing of high fives for a skip day well done Mr Becker starts class. he starts class with tales of his disappointing classes, lecturing on the unpreparedness of previous classes. then moving onto the importance of preparation for a healthy group discussion. when we break up into our groups ready to discuss our respective stories. when my group finally gathered we discovered a minor misunderstanding leading to a group member not having the proper preparatory work done. The situation quickly resolved its self. When i finished reading my summary of the first segment of "Beowolf" i looked around the class seeing that the rest of the class was about at the same point in their discussion process. the class was buzzing with chatter as the discussions continued. As the end of class neared Mr. Becker had our groups split up and go back to our desks. when we had finally sat down he explained his appreciation for our preparedness and told us that we had surpassed expatiations set down by previous classes.
