ReplyDeleteI walk into class, to find Zac ringing the bell of excellence and Scott doing something with the stool. Before I can ask him what he is doing, Scott walks up to Nathan and has him feels his pecs. I’m a little startled how willing Nathan was to feel Scott’s chest, but in the end we learn that Scott is very muscular. This should have been the first warning that today wasn’t going to be like any other day. As I pull out my pen and notebook, I feel weight on my shoulder. I look up to see none other than Nathan sitting on me. Rachel’s description of the classroom being a ‘mad house’ hits the nail right on the head. The Sub, who I later find out, is Ms. Smith walks in and proclaims that she isn’t related to anyone we know with the same last name. I realized how bad today was going to be when after Miles runs in all excited about his letter of recommendation, Ms. Smith gives him the stink eye. Zac notices that Miles has also gotten a haircut and compliments him. Attendance took a while, which is surprising since there are only like 16 kids in the class. After Chaz goes to take the attendance sheet to the office, Miles asks to go to library so he can read. He was denied, but the sub did decide to give the class a mini lecture on how to be quieter. As I pulled out my mythology book, the opposite side of the class gets into a discussion about a ring of fire. Ms. Smith gets up and goes to inspect the situation. Everything seemed to be okay since she went back to the desk. My vision starts to blur and I get a little nervous. I look down at what I assume is the desk and realize that my contact had indeed popped out. After convincing the sub that I need my contacts, she allows me to use the restroom. I am a little sad to leave the room since it seems like everyone is in the stage of slap happy. Upon returning to the class, I noticed that Ms. Smith is reading a mythology books in the desk by the white board. I am not exactly sure why she felt the need to sit over there but it s safer to just not ask. Then, Zac starts up a discussion on whether or not he should write a note explaining to Mr. Becker that he had done his homework yesterday. This topic slowly shifts to no shave November. Ms. Smiths threatens Zac to send him back to ISAP after Zac explains to her what No-Shave November is. T o be fair, she did ask him what it was. The neighboring class has son some kind of music and it seems to calm the class. This is when I notice that we still have 25 minutes of class left. I would love nothing more than to go to spectra but I have a feeling I would be denied. I feel like I am on the list of bad students since instead of reading I am writing this scribe notes. After finishing reading the chapter for discussion, I see that Ms. Smith is writing her review on the class. I am not expecting anything positive to be on that but there isn’t anything I can do about so I might as well just wait until Mr. Becker informs us tomorrow that the sub was not a fan of this class. I just realized that this is longer than my college application essay and that depresses me a little. Only 5 more minutes. I’m pretty excited that my school day is almost over. Now I get to go home and work on my history project. WHOO!

Mythology
Today began just like any other day; all the students filed in appreciating a few minutes with their cliches to catch up on the start of the day. Once the bell rung, all the student slowly mady their way to their desks while Mr. Becker walked towards his own desk. From there, Mr. Becker explained that he would be out the later of the day so he would give us a work day. No later was that said, that students began to get their books out and start ready our next section that is due thursday. As the class progressed, you could see heads slowly going down to their desk as they caught up on their sleep. Today, we may not have done much but for some, it was a golden treasure to have extra time to complete our sections before it was homework.
Today was more-or-less a work by yourself day in which we all read the next sections of our literary circles and did the corresponding work. I finished early and so I sat around observing the class while writing notes to Patrick Hurley, the hippest cat in town, and contemplating the future. Patrick and I plan on rooming together at MSU next year which is, let me tell you, the cat’s pajamas. We discussed the many Harry Potter posters we plan to post upon our walls and how we’re going to drink tea instead of coffee and be the kool kids on campus. As I looked around I saw the heavy heads of students slowly drooping towards their desks as fatigue begins to take over them. This is standard on days like this where we get to do whatever we please as long as it’s productive and, well, sometimes sleep is really very productive. I get a lot of my ideas from my dreams and if I don’t get my naps, girl, I’ll find other ways of being productive! Mr. Becker left early (without even saying goodbye) and left us with a substitute who kept to herself apart from a boy who was texting. The time in which the bell would ring was slowly creeping upon us and as I packed up my things I realized that I really hate having to wait for college. “I’m ready now,” I thought. “Take me now!” The bell rang and I, yet again, waited for Patrick to get his things together. Then we left and Patrick Hurley reminded me of the scribe notes and I rolled my well-practiced eyes and we continued walking to lunch.
